Toyota RAV4 Engine - Manufacturer's Defect

Toyota customer service refuses to deal with a severe manufacturing defect in the engine.

The Story

My 5 years old Toyota RAV4 Limited Edition broke down at 90,000 miles without any warning. The Toyota dealership refused to provide free support, since it is out of warrantee.

I traveled in local traffic when noticing that the low oil pressure light turned on for a few seconds. I immediately stopped.

The car was towed to my mechanic. The mechanic first noticed and replaced the broken oil line. Since he did not consider the engine running well afterwards, he opened it and found 2 bolts loose inside.

Since my car has never been repaired previously, it must have been the result of a defective manufacturing process, i.e. the bolts were not securely tied in the factory and the engine was supplied with a faulty oil line. I'm a victim of a rare co-incidence, a manufacturing double failure striking at the same time, which cost me the total of $5,500.

I'm asking Toyota to take responsibility for their fault. I'm hoping they will not compel me to pursue my case through different avenues.

I've presented my after warranty issue, a manufacturing defect case supported by video/audio recordings, photos, and detailed written description, statements from an expert and witnesses. I've also quoted a corresponding section of the Consumer Protection Act.

Toyota has not contacted me or my expert/witnesses to question any statements or details of the events. Toyota has completely ignored the relevant section of the law as well. Toyota declined my request without examining the case. Please read our correspondence.
